The Ministry of Economic Affairs is scheduled to hold the "Taipei-1 Computing Power Application (CFP) Briefing Session" on April 19, 2024, which will provide free AI computing power to industry, government, academia, research and innovation for research and development, and encourage my country to invest in generative AI, The research and development of forward-looking technologies such as large-scale language models and digital twins will strengthen Taiwan’s AI core technology and accelerate the development of the AI ??industry. Interested applicants can submit applications from now until May 30.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs promotes the "Leading Enterprise R&D Deepening Plan" (referred to as the Big A+ Plan) to attract major international companies to set up R&D centers in Taiwan. NVIDIA invests in forward-looking AI technology research and development, building the AI ??supercomputer "Taipei-1", and Our country's industry, academia and research institutes cooperate to develop AI technologies and products, support small and medium-sized enterprises and new innovations in introducing AI applications, and cultivate Taiwan's AI talents, making Taiwan an important partner in the global AI industry ecosystem.

"Taipei-1" is an AI supercomputer for artificial intelligence and digital twin computing. It has been completed by the end of 2023. Its purpose is to strengthen AI research and development. The Ministry of Economic Affairs is actively negotiating with NVIDIA to provide part of the high-speed computing resources of "Taipei-1" to our country for free for research and development. In order to make all walks of life understand the relevant application matters, the Industrial Technology Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and NVIDIA will hold a "Taipei-1 Computing Power Application (CFP) Briefing Session" on April 19, 2024, which will discuss the technical specifications and software and hardware environment of Taipei-1. , application methods and procedures will be explained; at the same time, in order to maximize the benefits of high-speed computing resources, the Industrial Technology Department will organize an expert committee to review proposals from all walks of life, and adopt batch receipt and batch review. The relevant evaluation results are expected to be in Announced at the end of June.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs stated that AI supercomputers are important infrastructure for promoting technological research and development and innovation, and all countries are vying to invest in this. The Ministry of Economic Affairs promotes the Big A+ project and supports NVIDIA in building "Taipei-1" in Taiwan, which will help enhance my country's AI model development capabilities can be deployed quickly, and it is expected to drive great progress in fields such as autonomous driving, medical imaging, smart manufacturing, smart transportation, safety monitoring, and smart customer service. This high-speed computing resource will help my country quickly build generative AI. Core technology to grasp the huge industrial business opportunities of AI.
